Host a Star Wars Day Party and Make some Princess Leia Cookies

Personally, I think it would be a lot of fun to host a Star Wars-cookie-making party for May 4th.

You could gather all your ingredients to the table and put your family and friends to work.

After all, there really isn’t any baking involved with these cute chocolate dipped Oreo cookies.

You just need a bag of Oreos, candy for dipping, and fun things like candy eyeballs, tiny heart sprinkles, and Rolos for Princess Leia’s pretty little hair buns.

Along with my Star Wars Chewbacca Cookies, these Star Wars Princess Leia Oreo Cookies are a wonderful way to tell everyone you know, “May the Fourth Be With You!”

And with cookie treats as sweet and fun as these, there’s no reason for anyone to join the Dark Side.

If you are a big Oreo fan, you may also enjoy our chocolate mint Oreo brownie recipe too!

  • 1/2 (12 ounce) package milk chocolate chips

How to make Star Wars Princess Leia Oreo Cookies

  1. Line a baking sheet with waxed paper.
  2. Melt white candy coating according to package directions. If the candy is too thick to pour, add 1 teaspoon coconut oil or vegetable shortening. Stir well. Do not add water. You can add up to 1 tablespoon of coconut oil per bag of candy wafers.
  3. Dip each cookie into candy melts. Remove cookie, tapping gently against the side of the bowl, allowing excess candy to return to the bowl. If air bubbles form, pop them with a toothpick. Place the cookie onto the waxed paper. Allow to set completely before proceeding to the next step. To speed the process, cookies can be refrigerated or placed in the freezer in a single layer.Oreo covered in candy melts with a spoon
  4. Melt milk chocolate chips in the microwave, stirring vigorously after in 30-second increments, until smooth. Transfer melted chocolate to a piping bag or zip top freezer bag with the corner snipped.
  5. Use the chocolate to create a hairline and then fill the cookie from the hairline to the edge. Immediately press two unwrapped Rolo Caramel candies against each cookie to be the hair buns.Pipe melted chocolate to make Princess Leia's hair
  6. Using a toothpick and/or sterilized tweezers, apply a tiny amount of white candy melts to the candy eyes and a heart sprinkle, placing each to form Leia’s face.Add Rolo candies to make Princess Leia's buns
