Ingredients

  • 5 lbs chicken breast
  • 16 oz brown rice
  • 1 tbsp sea salt
  • water to cover

Instructions

  • Line your crock pot with a crock pot liner for easy clean up.
  • Then place the chicken in the bottom of the crock pot and cover with water.
  •  Turn the crock pot on high and cook for four hours or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165 degrees.
  • Then add the rice and let it cook for an additional hour. You may need to add a little bit more water as the rice will absorb much of the water.
  • When the magic mash has thoroughly cooked, I remove the chicken and shred it. I put the shredded chicken back into the crock pot and mix it thoroughly with the rice and allow it to cool.

Notes

You may substitute chicken broth for water.
Please note that feeding magic mash is not a substitute for taking your dog to the veterinarian. This post is not intended as medical advice.
